The Bermuda Coders Initiative is a partnership of the Government of Bermuda and the Government of the United Arab Emirates to enhance digital literacy in Bermuda through online courses.With the Bermuda Coders Initiative, you will have the opportunity to gain foundational level skills in:

Data Science Fundamentals

This track will teach you learn the basics of working with data. You’ll discover how to clean up messy data, create charts to see patterns. You’ll learn to use data to tell interesting stories.

This track will teach you what Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are all about. You’ll learn how to use AI and think about the best ways to do so.

Android Kotlin Development Fundamentals

This track will teach you how to make Android apps. You’ll learn to design app screens and how users interact with them. You’ll also learn Kotlin, a fast programming language that helps keep apps lightweight.

What is the Bermuda Coders Initiative?

What are the learning tracks?

In just 8 weeks for each track, you will gain foundational digital skills in some of the most in-demand skills: Programming, Data Science, Android Development and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

What type of device will I need to take the courses?

You can learn the course on any device that gives you access to a web browser: a phone, tablet, or desktop. Just register and log in to your account as instructed by your registration
confirmation emails.

How do I apply for this programme?

You simply enroll in the track that appeals to you using your email address and this link and get started immediately

What email address should I use to register?

You can use any email address you choose (professional, school, personal, etc.) Make sure you keep that same email address for the duration of the programme in order to maintain access
to the material and to receive communications from us. Check your inbox and spam folders regularly.

Can I enroll in more than one track at a time?

You may - however, to increase your chances of success, it is recommended that you enroll in each track sequentially. Remember that you only have 8 weeks to complete each track, so make
sure you dedicate your focus to one track at a time. The four tracks will remain available for enrollment until November 2027.

I have enrolled in the wrong track. Can I withdraw?
Unfortunately, there is no withdrawal option.
What is the deadline to complete each track?
The track duration is 8 weeks. All four tracks will remain available for enrollment until November 2027.
How do I get tech support?

As soon as you’re registered, you will have access to the Global Coders community forum to ask other students and tutors questions to help you through any
learning difficulties.
If you need specific support, you can contact the support team by e-mailing: globalcoders@udacity.com.

Are these certifications accredited?
Udacity is a private online education provider that is not accredited by an official institution. However, each certificate will contain a unique code that can be later verified for every individual.
I have finished the coursework and passed the assessment. How soon can I receive my certificate?
You will be eligible to receive a “Certificate of Completion” if you pass the certification assessment. Your certificate will be automatically generated once you complete all the track requirements. You will be provided detailed instructions on how to download your certificate at the end of each track. Once you generate your certificate, make sure to download it on your device as it will be replaced by the certificate of completion afterward in the Classroom.
I have not passed the assessment. Can I attempt it again?
If you fail to pass your certification assessment, you can reattempt it as long as you’re still within your allotted programme duration (a maximum of 2 months from your first day of enrollment).
How will you contact me?
We will contact you via email. So please make sure to check your e-mail frequently and use the same email during different stages of this initiative. Also, make sure to check your spam folder often to see if you received emails from our side.
Can I change the email address that I have used to sign-up?
You should maintain the email address you used to enroll for the programme for the duration of this initiative in order to maintain eligibility for this scholarship.
What impact will finishing this course have on my career prospects?
The Bermuda Coders tracks are foundational courses that, once completed, provide digital literacy and general exposure to the relevant subject matter.
Will I receive career support?
Udacity does not provide direct career support as part of this programme.
